Maybe it’s a move to seek refuge from the tsunami of incoming information and distraction we are daily subjected to, but there is a growing trend in interiors to turn down the volume. Comfort of materials, keep it easy on the eyes, and make a refuge environment for a mental re-boot. These spaces are not solitary, but rather set up for groups- having the family and friends over, but with less distraction of color and objects, the attention can be directed at something more human- connecting with your guests, your family and with yourself. Beige and taupe (our favorite paint color being Benjamin Moore China White), the calming natural tones of Frank Lloyd Wright, brought into a modern less structured environment seem like just what the doctor ordered after a day withstanding the usual digital data assault. One of the prime practitioners is Disc Interiors. Nice work, and a great Instagram feed for inspiration.
