cnn branded-content collaboration
CNN’s branded-content arm, Courageous recently collaborated with AGEIST on this. Check it out. We helped them with casting and content, but it wasn’t really our intention that the client would choose me as the subject. Humm…What does one wear? How does one hold one’s body? Does my voice sound ok? Having had considerable time on the other side of things was helpful, and having been interviewed on stage a lot in the last couple of years was a plus. But I empathize with all those performers I’ve worked with over the years, as there is a certain nagging neurosis that whispers, “If only I had worn that blue shirt I would have been sooooo much better.” Yeah, right. But the thing is, since this first go round, I’ve been on camera maybe a half dozen times, and it does actually get better, you do find your voice. It’s still a bit weird, but the weird becomes less self-consciously weird, and more of an out of body me-as-a-character weird.
